It’s a beautiful weather outside today! (In fact, we have warm sunny days quite often here in the Netherlands recently.)
Spring and summer mean that the nails grow much faster. Perhaps you notice it, too.
In colder months, I could keep going without changing my nails for a month or even longer.
Now I need to do my nails more often (which I don’t mind).
This is the nail art I did in April.
I was inspired by a Japanese towel I found on Pinterest. (http://fromgraphic.jp/products/nadesiko/ You can find it among 2013, the second from the last.)
Brassica rapa is a quite common spring flower both in Japan and in the Netherlands. (I’m
sure it’s common in almost everywhere.)
I love the bright yellow of that flower! It’s such a vitamin color to your soul and mind!
I felt cheerful and positive just by looking at the color while bicycling. That’s why I wanted to have the flowers on my nails, too.
The colors I used:
•SinfulColors in ‘Cinderella’ (as the base color for the flower)
•HEMA Long Lasting Nailpolish in ‘844’ (army green)
*HEMA renamed its nail polishes and now they have more interesting names unlike the ones I own, which have only numbers. I don’t know if this army green color has a new name and stays in the collection or not. HEMA is another great shop to find those “in between” type of shades just like H&M. Very affordable price and great pigmentation and formula.
•H&M in ‘Cream Saffron’ (I’m afraid this color is discontinued, which I don’t understand at all!)
•OPI in ‘Don’t Talk Bach To Me’ (muted yellow green with subtle fine shimmer)
*This one is from Germany Collection back in fall 2012, so they discontinued without a doubt, especially unusual color like this. I quite like this unique shade!
I found places you can get it, one is on ebay and the other is a Canadian web shop called Nails R Us Beauty Supply.
(Disclaimer: The links above and below are mainly to be able to see the colors and how they look like in their packages in case you’d like to purchase. By placing order through these links, I gain no profit. Some colors are unfortunately discontinued. I did my best to find websites where you can buy when it’s still available, however the colors might be sold out by the time you read this.)
Okay, now let’s talk about my current nails, shall we?
I love having floral print on my nails, so I was looking for a new inspiration through my board on Pinterest. (Can you already tell that I LOVE Pinterest? Haha!)
I pinned this pattern of daisies and bees not so long ago, and I went for it.
The colors I used:
•OPI in “Who The Shrek Are You? (Ogre green just like Shrek)
*This one was from the Shrek Forever After Collection. Yes, it’s also discontinued.
I found a shop called Image Beauty where you can get as little as $3.99!
•OPI in “Don’t Talk Bach To Me” (see the previous nails info)
•H&M in “Cream saffron” (see the previous nails info)
•Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in “390 Lemon Heaven”
*This color is also discontinued. Personally, I like using it for nail arts, but not to paint my whole nails with it. Yellow nail polish tends to have very uneven application and this one is no exception. But if you still want to get your hands on it, you can find it on Amazon or on ebay.
•White nail art striper and a black nail art pen
Phew! We made it!!
Thank you for reading this rather long blog post!
Have a wonderful day!
